Data Centers: Getting MD & VA to Take Action
Data centers have affected local communities in both MD & VA alike. Join Nature Forward and Julie Bolthouse, Piedmont Environmental Council’s Director of Land Use, to learn what we can do at a state level to protect our local communities. You will learn about the results of a VA study conducted on data centers, the challenges of transmission lines cutting through communities in MD & VA, as well as how we can help push legislation in this upcoming state General Assembly. Join us in January and get ready to take action! Registration is free, but we encourage you to consider a donation to the Conservation program when registering.
Join us virtually on Wednesday, January 8 @ 7 pm via ZOOM.

Julie Bolthouse is the Director of Land Use at Piedmont Environmental Council where she’s worked for 14 years. She holds a Bachelors in Fisheries Science with a minor in Watershed Management and two Masters degrees in Urban Affairs and Planning and Natural Resources. Her advocacy work has allowed her to work on a wide variety of land use issues for the past decade but for the past three years she has been focused primarily on the pressing issue of the growing data center market in Virginia and massive expansions of the state’s energy infrastructure to serve it.
