Watching Out for Winter Road Salt

September 5 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Free

Join IPC for our first fall learning lab! In preparation for the upcoming winter help protect our waters by learning about sustainable solutions to road salt.

Road salt can increase the salinity of freshwater habitats that lead to the Chesapeake Bay, making them less suitable for migratory fish to spawn. It can also impact the development of fish, causing some species to be smaller and weigh less.
